Short Women’s Fashion: How To Wear Cropped Pants

Flare, bootcut, skinny, cropped… there are so many styles of pants that your brain gets all messed up, doesn’t it? And the doubt increases, even more, when you realize that those super trendy pants that eeeveryone in the world is using simply looks AWFUL on your body! But, keep calm, because today I’ll unravel for you, my dear short lady reader, how to use cropped pants in your favor!

I’ll begin by revealing a huge truth to get out of your head that it’s your body’s fault: there is no wrong body, there is wrong clothing for a certain body type! Wait, Myse, what the hell are you talking about? I’m saying that clothes can transform your body – for better or for worse. In the same way that we all have different styles, we also have different bodies!

So it makes no sense for you to feel ugly because one outfit looks bad on you and beautiful on someone else. And there’s the importance of finding out what body type you have, all right? This way you’ll learn the right techniques to value what you have best (and hide those little things that you don’t like that much)!

Now that this is clear and you’re enjoying your beautiful body, let’s talk about cropped pants – after all, it’s the real theme of today’s post -. The main characteristic of this style of pants is its length, which is midi, that is, it measures between the knee and the end of the leg. This makes your leg seem “cut” rather than elongated, giving the impression that you are much shorter than you really are. This is precisely why the short ladies out there should avoid cropped pants! But I’ll tell you a super secret: with the right style trick you’ll be able to wear even the most wrong clothes for your body and still look like a GODDESS! Let’s go learn how?

1. The style

Bet on high-waist models so you will make up for the “lack of fabric” on the bottom of the pants! Notice on the photos below that, although the pieces that make up both looks (the bag, the pants, the colors, and the prints) are super alike, the girl on the left looked much taller than the one on the right.

2. The print

Avoid wearing cropped pants with horizontal stripes as they will cause a flattening effect, making you look shorter than you actually are. Instead, wear the ones with vertical stripes, which will make you look taller! Proof of this is the singer Anitta, who even though she actually IS short, she seemed to be as tall as the right girl (who’s even not wearing heels)!

3. The top

Bet on tops that have the same background color as your pants. Or, if you want an item that does the work for you, invest in a cropped pants jumpsuit with the same color or pattern throughout the whole piece! This styling trick is one of my favorites because besides making you look taller, it will also make you look more elegant! Look closely at the effect of this 2-in-1 trick in the photos below.

4. The shoe

And, of course, I left the best part to the end: how to match clothes and shoes! hhhmm I know it’s a suuuper common question, so let’s solve it? The best shoe to make you look taller is the pointed toe heel (think of that gorgeous scarpin à la Louboutin or even a pointed toe flat)! The magic is right at the point of the shoe because this shape gives the impression that your leg extends for some – precious – centimeters!

WOW! After so many styting tricks, you’ll be able to wear cropped pants with ease, right? Now there’s an indescribable sensation, this one of dressing well to feel good! Try practicing the tips I’ve given you here and then come and tell me how it went!

Bisous and until the next post! ❤️
